Melinda Boswell Scholarship

Douglas County Association for Home and Community Education
The Melinda Boswell Scholarship was founded by Douglas County Association for Home and Community Education (DCAHCE), in memory of Melinda Boswell, an outstanding DCAHCE member, wife, mother and who also served as county treasurer of DCAHCE.

The Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization that partners with UW-Extension Family Living Programs, at both the state and county level, to bring quality educational programming to our members and our communities.

The program’s goals are to provide continuing education for members and others on issues that will strengthen families and communities, develop and improve leadership skills of members, build coalitions with other organizations and agencies having similar objectives and concerns, and to promote friendships and understanding with all people of the world.

Impact

I am a lifelong Superior resident. I am a student entering my 2nd semester in Medical Administrative Professional. I will be graduating with my Associate’s degree. Thank you so much for rewarding me the Melinda Boswell Scholarship for $500.00. I am very grateful, and it is great surprise. This award will be going towards tuition and schoolbooks. I am very excited to be on this educational path. As a single mom who is working full-time, it is still very difficult to provide and cover all of the costs of life. Any financial help towards my education would be a blessing and help to ease the stress of going into major debt to achieve my goals. An investment in my education is an investment in the local community. I believe in the value of helping others, and I look forward to the time when I can pay it forward. Thank you again, Jessica B.
