Adam Lavasseur Memorial Scholarship
Adam Lavasseur, age 27, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in a car accident. He graduated from Ashland High School in 2002 and was the class salutatorian. In 2006, he graduated with high honors from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, with a BA degree in Sociology. He was about to start his second and final year of Accounting classes on the Ashland campus.
Adam’s friends made sure his spirit of kindness and legacy of helping others lived on. A group of business students on the Ashland campus established the Adam Lavasseur Memorial Scholarship. Through the donations of many friends and family members, and through fundraising, the scholarship was able to be established as an endowment. The scholarship in his honor has been designated for Ashland area students who are enrolled in a business program on the Ashland campus.
This endowed scholarship offers one $500 scholarship every year.
Impact
Dear Adam Lavasseur Memorial Donor(s),
I wanted to thank you for the Adam Lavasseur Memorial Scholarship. By accepting this, the financial burden for school is a bit less. I am now majoring in accounting, which I plan to put to use in my community as an accounting assistant or payroll specialist. Overall, my college experience here at Northwood Technical College has been wonderful and I am thankful for the opportunity. This scholarship is a part of the reason I am able to continue my education. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Royce
